What are you coaching?

Coaching Senior Men’s 1st Division

When did you start playing rugby?

Started playing at age 7.

Brief playing/ coaching history?

Played professional rugby for the Lions, Leopards and Cheetahs in South Africa and then spent a few seasons over in Ireland.

What brought you to the Clan?

There was this Saffa named Phil that coached here for a season that brought me with him for a summer out here to play. Loved it and ended up relocating from Vancouver.

What got you into coaching?

I wanted to stay in the game after playing and found coaching an easy transition as a former player.

What's your coaching philosophy?

The best coaching advice I was given was this “Rugby isn’t a game that’s going to give you character, it’s going to find out who’s got it” You have to be prepared to sacrifice a lot to get your results.

Do you have any special talents that people aren't aware of?

It’s called a “njoffie” back home, I’ve been known to give a mean one. if you don’t know what that is just ask me.
