The Clansmen RFC Legacy Fund (“Legacy Fund”) is established within the mandate of the Canadian Rugby Foundation. In keeping with this mandate the Legacy Fund is established to promote and support rugby activities for the Clansmen Rugby Football Club including but not limited to its players, coaches, match officials and administrators. 

Legacy Fund structure, goals, and intent

The Clansmen Legacy Fund was established with two specific goals and intents. The first is to honour all Club members who have passed and whose spirits remain with us through their passion for the game and for the Club. The second is an intent of financial support directed toward the development of rugby within the club. The Legacy Fund is an endowment fund, the principal of which will generate annual interest/returns in the form of funds which may be allocated to support club development and activities. Most specifically, the development of junior rugby is of interest. In support of this, the Fund and the Club have a goal of continued fundraising that will build the Legacy Fund to an amount where a reasonable amount of financial support is available on an annual basis. 

Access to the legacy fund

Any member, coach or administrator may make application for funds which may be available. This will generally be on an annual basis but may be subject to change depending upon circumstances. Specific information related to the amount of funds available each year may be obtained from the Clansmen Legacy Fund Administrator. Application for use of available funds will be for purposes within the stated mandate and specifically for the benefit of the overall Club and/or the members of the Clansmen RFC. All applications must be in writing and must include the following information: 

  • Amount of funding requested

  • Proposed and detailed description of the use of the funds including the benefits to the Clan and its members

  •  A detailed plan including the timelines 

  • A commitment to a written report upon completion of the plan along with a financial reconciliation of the funds granted and used

  •  Any further information as requested by the Allocation Committee
